More swimming success....

Last week was diploma swimming day for those selected to do their first or next diploma. 7 students received their A or B diploma.

Many congrats to Maia, Yusef, Ali and Shamere for getting their B Diploma and Lilia, Pragati and Jude who got their A Diploma.

The usual poolside photo with certificate was forgotten in the euphoria of the moment for the Monday group so we took a photo of them receiving their “well done” gift from OIS instead.

A special mention to Jude, who has been able to actually swim like a fish in deep water since he arrived last year, but had to really work on that Dutch required technique, he was never frustrated and always swam with a smile.

Swimming at OIS next school year

At OIS we believe that swimming is an essential life skill and over the past couple of years we have been very pleased to be able to offer swimming lessons as part of the physical education programme. Last year we offered it to groups 3, 4 and 5 and this year to group 4 and 5.

As the children have done so amazingly, with many having received a diploma or improved their swimming skills enormously, we will offer swimming lessons to the groups 3 and 4 next year, who have not been part of the swimming lessons programme offerd by OIS thus far. More information on this will be shared with these groups before the end of the schoolyear.

If your child will not be in group 3 or 4 next schoolyear, but you are interested in swimming lessons, we highly recommend for you to sign your child up at a nearby swimming club as soon as possible, as many have long waiting lists. Most swimming clubs offer lessons after school, and on the weekends, for children from the age of four. Also our afterschoolcare company, UniKidz, offers swimming lessons as part of their afterschool activities programme, so make sure to contact them as well.
