Game On: An Action-Packed Sports Afternoon with Parents
We had an absolute blast at Sports Day this year! The gym hall was buzzing with excitement, full of games, laughter, and just the right amount of friendly competition. But this wasn’t just any ordinary Sports Day—oh no!
By Shannon Pendergast, Milepost 1 Team LeadDressed head-to-toe in bright orange, we were ready to celebrate the King’s birthday in style. And what better way to mark the occasion than by dancing our hearts out to the Kings Day classic, Baila Baila! With sports, smiles, and some seriously cool dance moves, it was a day to remember.
At OIS, we believe that sports aren’t just about winning—they’re about teamwork, trying your best, and most importantly, having fun! That’s why we love taking part in days like this, where we get to run, jump, dance, and cheer each other on.
One of the highlights of the day (and possibly the loudest!) was the epic tug of war. The parents came ready to win, full of determination and team spirit—but the children weren’t going down without a fight! With plenty of grit and giggles on both sides, it turned into one of the most exciting match-ups of the afternoon.
It was heartwarming to see the children and parents sharing the field, laughing together, and showing off their moves—both on the dance floor and during the games. It was clear that the competitive streak runs in the family!
Sports Day was a fantastic reminder of how much fun being active can be—especially when shared with family. We encourage you all to enrol your child in a local sports activity and keep the energy, teamwork, and smiles going all year round!
