New Smoothies

Today we were making smoothies. We were in groups of three or four people and each person had to bring an ingredient of the group’s choice. Each group had to make a rough draft before our neat and big poster with all the ingredients, name of the smoothie and steps.

Our poster had to be perfect, NO MISTAKES! We also had to put fun illustrations on our poster. Also we were thinking about the colour that the smoothie is going to be because our ingredients were 2 bananas, 6 strawberries and a LOT of blueberries. After we made our poster we were making our smoothie one by one.But it wasn’t a normal blender, we were using handmade electricity – we were pedalling on the bicycle blender.

Building healthy habits

Our little group was me (Lilia) Beren and Rita. We were not using electricity, because we were making the blender mix by turning the wheels of the bicycle blender. We were making posters about our smoothie.

We were doing this because our literacy unit is keeping healthy. Also because we are building healthy habits like sleeping well, not eating too much sugar and positive self-talk.

We were making our smoothies by cutting the fruit carefully (we cut it about in half). We did not cut it in very small pieces because then the blender would do nothing.
